Transfer and extension of irrigation and other modern agricultural technologies with a view to increasing agricultural productivity and assistance in production of minor crops;

Enhancement of rural production and promotion of rural products by establishing marketing linkages for the produce of the beneficiaries;

Creating opportunities for people's participation in local development and linking rural communities with various nation-building departments and coordinating services provided.
